We are interested in understanding how the local community feels about Ramsgate High Street and in particular property No. 50, which has been disused for around 7 years. Inspired by Lord George Sanger’s Circus and Hotel, No. 50 was built in 1883 and later became Ramsgate Royal Theatre. This weekend, Heritage Lab CIC will be in the caravan at No.50 Ramsgate High Street (Sat 22nd) & Westwood Cross (Sun 23rd), talking about the National Lottery Heritage Fund project ‘Sangers Circus’, with a special circus performance from Thanet’s theatrical performance group ‘Looping the Loop’.
